Custom Pinyin, anytime soon ?

One of the things I love about Skritter is being able to adjust definitions and I can't wait until we are able to do the same thing with the pinyin/tones.

I don't mind if there is one default reading/pronunciation for characters and words, as long as I can modify them if I prefer a different reading.

I'm sure this would also save the Skritter guys quite a bit of time and hassle in the long run, because I'm always sending them feedback comments about characters that have readings that aren't shown on Skritter.

Is there any news on when this feature will be available?

No; the code to do this would be a lot more work than it's worth. I will improve the neutral/full tone distinctions to be more specific, but full-on alternate readings for multiple-character words in Chinese will not happen, unfortunately. Sorry!

Hi Nick,

Cool, neutral/full tone distinctions will take care of 99 percent of the issue.

Any idea as to when the full tone distinctions will be available ?

It is looking like more complicated than I thought (I went to try to do it today), so unfortunately I don't know.

there already are lots of words on Skritter that have both tone sets, such as the word 咳嗽 . In China, the second character is neutral tone, and it Taiwan it's 4th tone. Both tones can be put in , so it's working fine with that one, and a bunch of other words that I'd have to think about to remember.

Is there a way that you can make dual-tone-set words like the way 咳嗽 is ?
