inklet settings?

AdGre   October 10th, 2011 8:05a.m.

Hey, I've been having trouble finding a decent writing tablet for macs in china that doesnt cost a fortune and havent had too much luck. the other day i read up about inklet and seeing how i own a magic trackpad already i figured it might be worth a shot. i downloaded the demo and ive been messing with it and just cant get it to work well. does anyone else use this and what are your settings? it might be that im using a griffin rubber tipped ipad pen on it (cant really find the pogo around here) but i cant even get a good response when just using my finger. any advice?

After some further testing I think it might just be a skritter thing. It works excellent in photoshop (not the pen, just my finger). The problem on skritter is when i lift my finger and touch a new place the dot draws a line one the way to the new spot. super annoying. oh well, i guess i just need to wait for the money for a wacom.

Now that I've got a Griffin stylus, I might give this another try to see if I can't figure out something better. When I asked them about this exact problem, though, they didn't have any suggestions. I'm trying to put as much time as possible into finishing the iOS app, though, so I can't do it soon.

Go Nick Go. I'm really looking forward to the iOS app. Thanks for putting so much time into this.

I'm not sure how complete the demo version is, but in the paid version I found it much better once I increased the amount of pressure needed to initiate 'inking' [to 4.5 or 5, nearly double the default setting). There is also an option to require a key to be pressed (e.g. space, a letter) to initiate inking, which avoids accidental strokes while you are positioning.

Then again, I am using the Pogo stick, so maybe that makes a big difference.

I think its just an issue of not having a pogo. the griffin is rubber tipped and emulates a finger where the pogo is flat and i think registers with the multitouch a little better. or something like that. im not sure.
