Bamboo really slow

jimi02   December 17th, 2010 10:28p.m.

Hi guys,

I recently switched to using a laptop for everything, including my Skrittering, and have been disappointed by how slow my Wacomb bamboo tablet is with it. Using the mouse, everything is fine, but with the tablet, I often experience the following problems:

- if I make a stroke too quickly, it won't register
- a general delay of maybe a half-second after making a stroke (this actually really adds up)

Does anyone else experience similar problems? Any suggestions? I'm not sure what to do (besides get a new computer, where I had no problems before) because it's really making Skrittering less enjoyable!

You need to go into the Bamboo options and disable a particular mode. Flicks I think?

Ah, that's right. Also check out here: http://www.skritter.cn/wacoms/settings

Yeah, all of the settings on that Wacom settings page are important, so unless the writing is really nice, definitely follow the guide closely. There are actually two or three settings that can cause what you describe.

Huzzah! Thanks... I'd never seeen that page describing all the settings that need to be configured (I had flicks turned off but didn't think to change any of the other stuff).

Thanks guys. Now to blast through some reviews...

I have the same problem with a pen tablet from UGEE, Rainbow Smart. The driver window states "Pen Tablet Control Panel Verion 5.01". It has nothing like "Flicks".

Frank, I have no idea what settings are available with that pen tablet. Does it have an options menu somewhere, and if so, what options does it have?
