Sentences - Live?

atdlouis   January 15th, 2013 12:24p.m.

Are the sentences live now? I'm noticing some bugs. For example, I just did a definition prompt for 真正. There was no sentence displayed. I went into the magnifying glass to set a sentence, and found that there are a lot of sentences available for that word. So why weren't any displayed at the prompt?

Also, would it be possible to get a list of all the words I have that *don't* have any sample sentences? This might be a hard one, resources wise. I want to sit down and assign sample sentences for them by mining the web.

They're not live yet; I'm going to upload them later today, but App Engine is experiencing turbulence right now.

I don't have an easy way to give you that list of words without sentences.

Yeah I figured Nick, no problem.

Nick, for definition prompts, are the sentences supposed to show up? I just had a definition prompt for 用处, but there was no sample sentence.

I scraped one from the web, went to enter it ... and saw there already is a list of sentences assigned for it. If that's the case, why didn't a sentence show up for the prompt?

The sentence shows up for definition prompts only after the prompt is answered. We could change this; I guess we initially figured that it would be too much of a hint.

I'd prefer to have the sample sentence present for definition prompts, but I can see how reasonable minds would differ.

I'd love some more input on this one, as now that I'm thinking about it more, I'm wondering why we did it this way.
