Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

Adding from pleco

夏普本   January 10th, 2013 2:23p.m.

I don't think this is possible, but can you add words from pleco to your skritter list?

lechuan   January 10th, 2013 4:49p.m.

You can export your flashcard list in Pleco.
Then use the exported list to create a list in Skritter.

That's not really what I wanted, I already have a flash card list in pleco which I use the flash card facilities of pleco. Quite often I am reading something off the Internet or in a book and will look up any characters I don't know. It would be nice to have a button in the pleco app which lets you add to a skritter list. Not sure if that is something the two companies could collaborate on seeing as they have a good relationship with each other or if others would utilise that to make it worthwhile.

I am all about increased synergies between these - excuse my excessive grovelling - between these two GREAT companies.

So +1 from me

We're working together on it, actually. It's going to be awesome.

夏普本   January 12th, 2013 5:15a.m.

Great, looking forward to the new releases.

Great work guys! Looking very much forward to it :-)

I have a workaround for this that works quite well:
open in Pleco Settings/Dictionary/Entry Commands.
In Save to Word list: Enable ('+'button)
Don't include defns to avoid cluttering in the text.
Show alert on add : ON
Now in every result screen The plus (+) is on the lower bar.
The file Pleco C-E-words now will hold all your entries. You may at any time open this file in document reader and copy / paste them into any custom word list. Skritter will automatically detect any duplicates and offer the choice of eliminating them.
Don't forget to delete the copied words out of the Pleco CE-words file or otherwise you will get many duplicates.

We're actually getting rid of that "Save to word list" feature in the next update; instead, we'll make the word list creation / organization capabilities from our flashcard system part of our free app, as we already do on Android - much less confusing not to have two different systems doing essentially the same thing. But you can still very easily add cards to a word list via that and then export them to a text file to import into Skritter, with the added benefit that you can now easily edit / reorder / categorize your cards before doing so.

But yes, we're definitely working on more direct Pleco/Skritter vocabulary sharing too :-)

Felouk   January 13th, 2013 5:34a.m.

Oh yes! I have been wishing for a direct ' add to skritter' button for ages. So definetly a +1 for me too.
